About this role
Kaspar Companies seeks a full-time AI Engineer based in Shiner, TX, to develop AI initiatives and improve manufacturing and other operational processes across its subsidiaries. The role includes training AI models and building, deploying, and supporting AI solutions that address specific business problems.
Responsibilities
- Scope and deliver AI-powered tools, integrating them with live data from Syteline ERP, Microsoft 365, and internal applications. Automate reporting, data consolidation, monitoring, and vendor or customer follow-up.
- Develop prompts, agent workflows, and system instructions; test and refine outputs against real scenarios for production accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Translate operational needs into technical plans, explain AI capabilities and limitations, write statements of work and project plans, and deliver against them.
- Produce documentation and job aids so teams can operate and troubleshoot solutions. Track adoption, support teams whose usage has stalled, and share successful applications across subsidiaries.
- Monitor deployed solutions for accuracy, uptime, cost, and business impact; diagnose failures, apply data security and access standards, and assess emerging models and platforms.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is specified, along with intermediate knowledge of manufacturing operations. Required capabilities include analytical problem-solving, working with spreadsheets, queries, APIs, and structured business data, clear communication with operators and leadership, and managing multiple initiatives with limited direction. The role calls for firsthand interest in how work is done on the plant floor and in the office.
Preferred qualifications
Experience with LLM platforms, prompt engineering, agent frameworks, or MCP-based integrations; development or scripting with Python, JavaScript, SQL, Power Platform, or similar tools; ERP familiarity, ideally Syteline; lean or continuous-improvement experience; and IT experience in business process transformation.
