About this role
Anori seeks an Applied AI Research Engineer to help build an AI platform for more sustainable and equitable housing and building development. The role spans prototyping new approaches, benchmarking them, deploying production AI models, and working with users to understand their value. The team is looking for an engineer experienced with agentic workflows, orchestrators, and rigorous validation and benchmarking who can deliver capabilities from initial prototype through deployment.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI systems that accurately interpret and validate nuanced requirements, conditions, and constraints in regulatory data.
- Design, prototype, benchmark, validate, and implement production-level software for inference, optimization, and other complex AI workflows in a SaaS offering.
- Build scalable, reproducible deployment pipelines for AI services and work with engineers, scientists, domain experts, and product managers.
- Write high-quality software to address problems involving complex, messy real-world and multimodal data.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of experience building and deploying AI systems, experience with complex real-world datasets and applications, and strong Python development skills.
Preferred qualifications include experience applying AI to regulatory or 3D data and working at an early-stage company with rapidly changing requirements.
The full-time position is listed as on-site in San Mateo, California. Applicants are asked whether they can work at that location or relocate and whether they can work in the office 3 to 4 days per week. Annual base salary is $150,000–$250,000, tiered by location and dependent on experience and skills.
