About this role
The AI Strategist leads customer engagements at Distyl AI, working with a technical lead and a team of engineers and researchers to deliver AI applications that solve critical business problems. The role owns customer outcomes from identifying opportunities through implementation, adoption and iteration.
Responsibilities
- Work with customers to understand their goals and complex workflows, identify valuable problems for AI to solve, and scope projects.
- Lead delivery with the technical team, ensuring systems meet quality, model-accuracy and reliability needs and become operational for end users.
- Manage relationships with end users and executive stakeholders, building trust and taking accountability for engagement outcomes.
- Analyze noisy enterprise data and real-world constraints to identify where AI can produce reliable results.
- Onboard users to enterprise applications and the platform, drive adoption, and convey customer pain points to inform product improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing complex projects or in strategic leadership, including client-facing work in AI or technology integration; no minimum number of years is specified.
- Strong communication, customer empathy, analytical problem-solving and product intuition, with the ability to define outcomes and manage competing priorities in ambiguous situations.
- Proficiency in programming, scripting or statistical packages such as Python, R, Matlab or SQL; passion for AI; and ability to travel 50%.
Location and compensation: This full-time role is based in San Francisco or New York and follows a hybrid model with 3+ in-office days per week, including Tuesday–Thursday. Base salary is $150K–$250K, depending on experience, location and level.
