About this role
HockeyStack is hiring an AI Engineer to build agentic AI for its enterprise revenue platform. The role focuses on agents that orchestrate sales and marketing workflows for go-to-market teams, using LLMs and the company’s Nex-lm engine, which turns natural language into deterministic agent workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own and improve the backend systems supporting agentic AI features across the platform.
- Design, build, and maintain agents for go-to-market workflows, along with the Node.js services that power them.
- Develop context-management pipelines and support thousands of stateful agents.
- Deploy frequently to production while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications or agentic AI systems in production.
- Strong backend engineering experience with Node.js and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience orchestrating multi-agent systems and managing agent state, memory, and context across complex workflows.
- Familiarity with AI frameworks and providers such as Braintrust, Cerebras, or LangChain, or similar tools.
- Understanding of how to route work across different LLMs to balance cost, speed, and quality; a track record of shipping in fast-moving production environments.
- An ownership-oriented, feedback-driven approach suited to an early-stage, high-urgency environment.
Work arrangement and pay: This is a full-time, on-site position at HockeyStack’s San Francisco headquarters, requiring in-person work five days per week. Annual base pay is $180,000–$220,000 USD, depending on experience and qualifications. No specific number of years of experience or education requirement is stated.
