Manager, Risk Management - AI Transformation

Circle · San Francisco, United States of America

About this role

Circle seeks a Manager, Risk Management - AI Transformation to help move its Global Risk Management (GRM) organization from manual processes to an AI-native model in which intelligent agents handle core workflows while people retain judgment, exception handling, and oversight. The manager reports to the leader of GRM’s AI transformation and works across compliance, financial crime, security, financial risk, and enterprise risk.

Responsibilities

  • Lead workshops with process owners to map current work, challenge assumptions, and design AI-native future-state processes. Drive the organizational change needed to adopt them.
  • Shape GRM’s AI vision and target architecture, prioritizing reusable capabilities that can support multiple processes. Drive pivotal AI applications from scoping and requirements through build, testing, launch, adoption, and measurement.
  • Apply Circle’s AI Risk Management framework to GRM developments, with risk assessments, controls, guardrails, human-in-the-loop oversight, explainability, and auditability.
  • Translate risk and compliance needs into solution designs and success criteria. Coordinate with process owners, builders, engineering, Circle’s central AI team, and other AI leaders on shared platforms and standards.
  • Track the initiative portfolio, roadmap, impact, blockers, and dependencies; prepare updates for GRM leadership, executives, and risk committees.

Required:

  • 7+ years in business process transformation, operational excellence, management consulting, product or program management, or a related discipline, including process redesign or automation initiatives.
  • Experience optimizing complex processes and delivering cross-functional initiatives through adoption and measurable outcomes. Working fluency in generative AI and agentic concepts is required; ML engineering experience is not.
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, communication, and program and portfolio management skills. Exposure to a regulated or control-oriented domain, or the ability to build credibility with risk and compliance stakeholders, is required.

Preferred

Financial services, fintech, digital-assets, or other regulated-sector experience; hands-on work with agents, LLM workflows, or automation using low-code, no-code, or AI development tools; experience with shared AI or platform teams, responsible-AI frameworks, Lean or Six Sigma, or relevant project, change-management, or process-improvement training.

The posting lists San Francisco and other US cities as job locations and includes #LI-Remote. Base pay is $157,500–$205,000; ranges may differ by location.
