About this role
Allus AI is hiring a founding engineer to build the core software for an AI-native platform that turns user problems and example data into production-ready vision workflows. The role combines AI agents, product engineering, developer infrastructure and user-facing AI experiences.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and development of core systems. Build agentic workflows that translate requirements and example inputs into structured, multistep workflows, including orchestration, tool use, task planning, state management and reliability.
- Build data-intake processes, review loops and human-feedback systems. Develop infrastructure for prompt orchestration, memory, retrieval and contextual personalization, plus LLM- and agent-powered internal tools and product features.
- Design evaluation and monitoring for workflow quality, reliability, latency and production readiness. Improve developer productivity through abstractions and automation, and rapidly prototype and ship AI-driven capabilities.
Requirements
- The detailed role description requires 5+ years building production software systems; the listing summary separately says 3+ years. Strong backend skills in APIs, data pipelines and system design are required, along with experience shipping LLM-powered applications or agentic workflows and knowledge of prompt design, tool use, retrieval, orchestration and evaluation.
- Candidates should be able to take prototypes into production, work across the stack with high ownership and apply product judgment to user-facing AI. Engineers are expected to use modern AI development tools; familiarity with Cursor, Claude Code or similar assistants is sought.
Relevant experience includes full-stack development, agent orchestration, RAG or embeddings pipelines, human-in-the-loop workflows, evaluation, observability and developer tooling. Technologies used include Python, Rust, SQL, TypeScript, React, Node.js, FastAPI, LangChain, Docker, Redis, AWS and GCP; the listing also names Microsoft Azure. The position lists Cupertino, California; Atlanta, Georgia; and remote options in California or Georgia. It is full-time, pays $100K–$200K annually, lists 0.30%–1.00% equity and offers visa sponsorship.
