About this role
MindFort is hiring an AI Researcher to advance autonomous agents for its AI-powered penetration testing platform. The role focuses on making agents more reliable and capable of discovering and exploiting complex web application vulnerabilities. As an early researcher, you will help set the direction for agent reasoning, planning and evaluation, with research incorporated directly into the product.
Responsibilities
- Research methods that improve agent reasoning, planning and multi-step exploitation.
- Design experiments with LLM-based agents, including prompting, memory, tool use, fine-tuning and reinforcement learning.
- Build evaluation harnesses and benchmarks for real-world vulnerability discovery and exploitation.
- Work with engineering to turn research findings into production agent improvements. Follow advances in LLMs, agents and offensive security, and contribute publications or technical write-ups where appropriate.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience, as listed in the posting; a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- A strong ML/AI research record demonstrated through publications, open-source work or comparable impact; hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic systems; and strong Python skills, including the ability to productionize research prototypes.
- Experimental rigor, communication skills and the ability to work in a small, cross-functional team.
Preferred
Publications at leading AI or security venues; a background in cybersecurity, web vulnerabilities, offensive security or red teaming; experience training and serving LLMs at scale; or startup experience.
The full-time role is listed in Los Angeles, CA, or remote within the US; applicants must be US citizens or have a US visa. Compensation is $150K–$250K annually plus 0.20%–0.50% equity.
