About this role
Arnata is hiring an AI Researcher to develop agents for logistics workflows, including freight negotiation, dispatch coordination and shipment tracking. The role focuses on advancing agent reasoning, real-world tool use, negotiation and multimodal communication, then putting that research into production for customers in trucking, brokerage and global supply chains.
Responsibilities
- Build and fine-tune multi-agent systems for dynamic reasoning and decision-making.
- Research and prototype approaches to planning, voice and text negotiation, and real-time problem-solving.
- Integrate agents with email, telephony, transportation management systems and APIs.
- Work with engineers, product thinkers and operators to deliver research with customer impact.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience, with proven applied AI research experience in a product-driven company.
- A PhD or equivalent experience in AI, machine learning, NLP or a related field.
- Experience with LLMs, reasoning engines, planning, agent architectures or autonomous systems.
- An interest in owning applied AI work and prioritizing practical impact alongside research results.
The full-time position is listed as San Francisco, CA, US / Remote; the posting specifies US applicant-location requirements and says US citizenship or a visa is not required. Compensation is $180,000–$250,000 USD per year, with equity. The researcher will work directly with the founder and CEO.
