Rex Moore seeks an AI Automation Specialist to build and operate automations, integrations, and AI-powered workflows across its business. Reporting to the Director of the Office of Operational Intelligence & Automation, the specialist will turn defined priorities into working systems for functions spanning pre-construction, project delivery, and back-office operations. The listed job location is Sacramento, California, with a work schedule described as remote in California.
Responsibilities
- Build, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve automations for data capture, work routing, document handling, approvals, and other operational processes. Identify manual work that can be streamlined and maintain deployed workflows.
- Connect ERP, CRM, and other enterprise systems using APIs, webhooks, JSON, and automation-platform connectors. Adapt integrations as the company’s tools change.
- Manage AI tool integrations and prompt libraries. Build AI-powered workflows for document processing, data extraction, summarization, and decision support; refine recurring prompts and track usage, output quality, and cost. Extend AI assistants through connectors, including MCP connectors or API integrations.
- Capture and clean field and departmental data for automations, reporting, and AI workflows, and provide usable operational data to the central data-infrastructure team. This role does not manage that infrastructure.
- Support tool rollouts, onboarding, and employee training; write accessible guides and reinforce responsible-use and data-handling practices with IT. Write maintainable Python scripts for data transformation, API calls, file processing, and custom logic.
Required qualifications include hands-on business automation and integration experience with platforms such as n8n, Power Automate, Make, or Zapier; experience with APIs, webhooks, JSON, AI/LLM tools, prompting, and Python; and the ability to work with data from multiple sources. The role also calls for troubleshooting, adaptability across enterprise platforms, clear communication, and the ability to teach non-technical colleagues. Preferred qualifications include production use of AI provider APIs, ERP or CRM integration, SQL or other database queries, enterprise tool rollout and training, responsible-AI practices, Git, and an interest in construction or other project-based industries. The position is full-time, with a stated salary range of $140,000–$160,000 per year and negligible travel; travel to other offices may be required.
