About this role
Blackstone seeks an AI Engineer for BXTI’s Alternative Asset Management Technology Data Analytics & AI team in New York. Supporting BXMA, Private Equity, Real Estate and Private Wealth, the role accelerates AI adoption by working directly with business teams to discover use cases and deliver solutions for their day-to-day workflows.
Responsibilities
- Embed with business units, shadow live workflows, engage AI power users and learn how teams raise, service and report on capital. Validate demand and prioritize self-service improvements and larger platform initiatives.
- Develop and maintain secure, reliable, scalable production software using Python and SQL. Apply version control, CI/CD, containerization and cloud deployment practices, including tools such as Git, Docker and Terraform.
- Build agentic workflows, retrieval pipelines and evaluation tooling. Release validated self-service runbooks and prompt libraries; help move proofs of concept into supported production deployments.
- Lead multiple concurrent projects, collaborate across BXTI and deliver talks and training for technology and business teams.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year in AI engineering, software engineering or data analysis; fluency in Python and SQL for data and data warehouses; and applied experience with LLMs and AI tooling, such as fine-tuning, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, retrieval, or model evaluation and benchmarking.
- Experience shipping and maintaining production systems under real user load; proficiency with software development lifecycle tools; and ability to learn unfamiliar technology stacks with minimal supervision.
- Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders to elicit requirements and shape solutions, plus experience on a technology team at a financial firm. Experience in alternative asset management, private wealth or fund distribution is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication, documentation and project-scoping skills; ability to manage changing scope and competing priorities. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or Economics is required.
Compensation and conditions: Expected annual base salary is $80,000–$140,000, depending on experience, skills, qualifications and location. Benefits include health coverage, paid time off, life insurance, a 401(k) plan and discretionary bonuses; some employees may be eligible for equity or other incentives. Certain client-facing or fund-related activities may require securities licenses.
