Manager, AI Engineering

Trinity Life Sciences seeks a hands-on Manager, AI Engineering to build generative AI solutions with biopharma and life sciences clients while guiding a small team of 1–3 AI engineers. The role focuses on turning ambiguous commercial, medical affairs, and data challenges into working applications, including client-facing Copilots, RAG pipelines over clinical or commercial data, and agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with client teams to understand unmet needs, then rapidly prototype GenAI applications, assistants, workflows, and data integrations—aiming to demonstrate solutions within two weeks of receiving client data.
• Write code and own delivery from initial design through production-ready implementation, deployment, client demonstrations, iteration, and handoff to product. Move between client engagements and product sprints as priorities change.
• Document engineering patterns, share playbooks, and bring field learnings into reusable components and Copilot templates.
• Pair with junior engineers, review their work, unblock technical problems, support onboarding, and provide feedback that improves engineering quality and client impact.

Requirements

• 6–9 years of professional software engineering experience and a record of shipping production-quality systems. Strong Python proficiency and fluency with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience building or integrating GenAI systems involving LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, agentic architectures, multimodal pipelines, and Copilot-style assistants.
• Experience presenting to nontechnical stakeholders and incorporating client feedback. Ability to understand client needs before building, collaborate across teams, and work on compressed timelines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred

Experience mentoring or leading a small engineering team and experience in life sciences or biotech, particularly its commercial model and stakeholder needs.

The posting lists New York, NY, and Princeton, NJ. Base salary is $148,000–$222,000 per year, with eligibility for an annual discretionary performance bonus.
