About this role
The AVP, AI Platform is the product leader for LPL Financial’s shared AI platform. The role sets its strategy, roadmap, priorities and operating measures, enabling teams to register AI assets, connect approved models, tools and data, run products in production, and monitor platform activity. Specialist teams retain ownership of Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, Privacy, Supervision, Records Management and FinOps decisions; the platform implements those decisions and records evidence.
Responsibilities
- Maintain registries for agents, tools, models, prompts, MCP servers and A2A workflows, including ownership, versions, approved uses, dependencies and status. Define processes for registration, testing, certification, launch, monitoring, changes, suspension and retirement.
- Own runtime capabilities for routing, access controls, policy enforcement, rate limiting, tenant and entitlement boundaries, PII handling and AI firewall integration. Establish approaches to knowledge access, data permissions, memory, expiration and deletion.
- Provide output evaluation, production monitoring, drift detection, adversarial testing and observability. Partner with engineering on outages, incidents, kill switches, quarantine, fallbacks and recovery testing.
- Connect audit records, supervisory data, certification evidence, exceptions and retention requirements to review teams. Supply FinOps with usage and cost data for showback, chargeback, forecasting and optimization. Track adoption, onboarding time, availability, latency, failures, control coverage, exceptions and cost to guide improvements.
Requirements
At least 7 years of product management experience, including ownership of a shared platform, developer platform, infrastructure product or enterprise technical capability. Candidates need experience with product strategy, delivery, adoption and production performance; services used by multiple product and engineering teams; and cross-functional work with engineering, Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, Privacy, Legal, data, Records Management, Supervision and FinOps. Technical fluency in APIs, gateways, identity and authorization, cloud and data architecture, distributed systems, telemetry, and AI or machine-learning platforms is required.
Preferred
Strong communication with senior leaders; experience with AI agents, LLM gateways, Kong, MCP, A2A, registries, prompt management, policy engines, AI evaluation, drift detection, red teaming, observability or model lifecycle management; and experience in financial services or another regulated industry.
