About this role
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts seeks an AI Product Owner to guide one or more AI engineering teams developing an agentic AI framework. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with responsibility for the architecture, delivery, scalability and quality of AI solutions.
Responsibilities
- Guide and mentor AI engineers on architectural practices, coding standards and agentic architectures.
- Lead technical design and implementation of AI agent components, generative AI integrations and supporting infrastructure.
- Work with Product Owners to refine technical requirements, estimate effort and deliver AI features on time.
- Establish code review practices, resolve complex technical issues and evaluate tools, libraries and frameworks.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology or a related field.
- 1–3+ years of hands-on experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and scikit-learn; 1+ years developing agentic solutions, with knowledge of cloud services and MLOps tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. These are technology-specific experience requirements; no single overall experience minimum is stated.
- Experience designing and implementing complex AI agent components, including agents using RAG architectures and fine-tuning techniques; expertise managing model performance, scalability and reliability in production.
- Communication and stakeholder collaboration skills, plus experience with code reviews, knowledge-sharing and technology decisions.
Preferred qualifications
Linux/Unix scripting; experience across AWS, Google Cloud and Azure; and Solution Architect Associate certification, preferably in GCP or AWS.
The full-time role lists Boston and Hingham, Massachusetts. Candidates local to the Boston office are eligible for the Flex Persona, described as on-site two days per week. The posted salary range is $111,960–$136,840; the role is also eligible for variable pay.
