About this role
Vanguard is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to build agentic systems for IT operations, automation, and resilience checking. The role involves developing multi-agent platforms alongside senior engineers and data scientists.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and implement agentic systems using large language models and agent frameworks; develop workflows that coordinate agents on complex tasks.
- Build and optimize retrieval-augmented generation pipelines for knowledge-driven agents, and help develop and test scalable, reliable agentic architectures and infrastructure.
- Collaborate on features, experiments, and integration of research findings. Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation.
Required qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in computer science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a related field, plus 5–8 years of experience in AI/ML engineering or software development.
- Strong Python skills; experience with AWS, GitHub pipelines, CI/CD concepts, and the IT domain; hands-on experience with agentic frameworks, vector databases, data pipelines, and retrieval systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new AI techniques and frameworks.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience across Java Spring, React, Rust, and Go; contributions to open-source AI/ML projects or agentic frameworks; or experience building autonomous agents, RAG systems, or multi-agent workflows.
