About this role
The GenAI Product Builder works with Tempus teams serving health systems, life science organizations and internal operations to identify practical problems and deliver agentic generative AI solutions. The role spans product management, product design and hands-on implementation, with a focus on turning prototypes into responsible, scalable systems that support clinical care.
Responsibilities
- Partner with customer and business leaders to identify high-impact use cases and translate operational challenges into functional solutions through research, problem discovery and systems thinking.
- Build rapid prototypes and proofs of concept, then design and implement agent-based solutions for uses such as workflow automation, patient communication, insight generation and clinical operations.
- Work with LLMs and agent frameworks on prompt design, chaining, context management, evaluation and guardrails. Lead implementations with customer teams or internal engineers.
- Relay real-world feedback to Tempus OS and other platform teams to help shape their roadmaps, and train users on deployed agentic solutions.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in a role combining product management or ownership with hands-on software or AI engineering. Hands-on experience building or deploying GenAI applications, such as agents, chat interfaces or LLM-driven workflows.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python, JavaScript or similar languages; familiarity with APIs, webhooks, integration patterns and data pipelines. Experience with systems thinking, domain modeling, problem discovery and user research.
- Experience taking AI solutions beyond proofs of concept to production, including observability, A/B testing, error handling and scaling. Practical experience with LLMs, agentic frameworks, prompt engineering, evaluation metrics and AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude or Codex.
- Communication and storytelling skills for working with clinicians and engineers, plus a record of driving projects from discovery through delivery.
