About this role
Moderna seeks a Power Platform & AI Engineer for its Power Platform Center of Excellence. The role combines platform administration, governance and hands-on development with delivery of secure, AI-driven automation. The engineer will treat the platform as an internal product, supporting adoption and business value across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Administer Power Platform development, validation and production environments. Maintain governance for environments, data loss prevention, connectors, security roles, licensing and access; manage solution promotion, versioning and changes. Work with Security, Compliance and Enterprise Architecture to meet enterprise standards.
- Keep the platform GxP-qualified through validation, documentation and audit-ready change processes. Maintain administration and operating procedures and configuration/design specifications.
- Design, build and support production-grade Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, and Copilot Studio agents and conversational experiences. Lead prompt engineering and conversational design, including topics, triggers and escalation paths. Integrate with Microsoft 365 and enterprise systems such as ServiceNow and Jira; develop reusable components and assess when RPA tools are appropriate.
- Support citizen developers through training, workshops, office hours, design reviews and production-readiness guidance. Track adoption, automation usage, operational failures and business impact using platform analytics and Power BI; improve monitoring, governance and development standards.
Minimum qualifications: At least 5 years of experience administering and developing Microsoft Power Platform in an enterprise environment; deep expertise in Power Apps, Power Automate and Copilot Studio; experience building enterprise-grade apps and end-to-end solutions involving Microsoft 365, Dataverse, APIs and enterprise systems; experience delivering AI-driven automation and integrating through APIs or MCP servers; and strong production troubleshooting skills.
Preferred qualifications
UiPath experience; experience in regulated pharmaceutical or healthcare environments, including GxP or SOX; PowerShell or Python scripting; Power Platform or Copilot Studio certifications; and strong communication skills in a centralized CoE serving distributed teams.
The position is in Cambridge, Massachusetts, under Moderna's 70% in-office working model. The stated salary range is $109,200.00–$174,600.00; eligible employees may receive discretionary bonuses, other incentives or equity, alongside healthcare, well-being, family-planning and paid-time-off benefits.
