About this role
The AI Developer joins Goodwin’s Digital & Technology team and reports to the Director of Engineering. This is primarily a software engineering role focused on building reliable AI-powered applications, automation solutions and agent-based systems that improve business operations and user productivity. The developer takes scoped problems from design through deployment and iteration, working with engineers, architects, business stakeholders, legal teams, data professionals and technology partners.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test and maintain scalable AI applications and integrations. Gather workflow requirements and translate them into technical solutions using technologies such as C#/.NET, Python, TypeScript, React and APIs.
- Configure and support solutions using Microsoft Azure AI services. Assist with retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering and agent workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Microsoft Agent Framework or LlamaIndex.
- Write unit, integration and end-to-end tests; monitor performance, troubleshoot problems and improve functionality and user experience. Produce solution designs, deployment procedures and support documentation.
- Follow software development lifecycle, change management, security and operational standards. Work with Information Security on secure, compliant and responsible AI use; participate in code reviews, pilots, proofs of concept and technology evaluations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 2–4 years of professional software development experience, including building, testing and supporting web applications.
- Professional TypeScript or JavaScript experience with a modern front-end framework; React is preferred. Requires software development skills, knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, databases and integrations, experience in a structured SDLC, and exposure to AI or intelligent automation, including LLM APIs or AI SDKs. Communication, collaboration, adaptability and accountability are important. Python or C# experience and experience with the named orchestration frameworks are pluses.
The position lists Boston, San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Boston’s target salary range is $115,000.00–$159,000.00; the range varies by location and relevant experience. The position is not eligible for overtime.
