School of Infocomm - Lecturer (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning)

The School of Infocomm seeks a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Republic Polytechnic, Singapore. The lecturer will prepare students for AI careers by teaching AI, machine learning, deep learning and generative AI, while supporting their career development and building industry connections.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver curriculum, and supervise practical student projects.
• Teach how AI models learn from data, using applications such as chatbots, self-driving cars and voice recognition.
• Guide students in building data science infrastructure, preprocessing and cleansing data, and planning deployment into production environments.
• Supervise projects involving speech recognition, data mining and advanced robotics. Collaborate with experts and explain AI applications to diverse audiences.

Required qualifications and skills:

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field, plus at least 1 year of relevant experience as an AI Specialist, Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer or in a similar AI development role.
• Strong grasp of Python, Flutter and C++; linear algebra, calculus, statistics and probability; experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras and ML/deep-learning algorithms; proficiency with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud for AI deployment; and understanding of data modeling, mining and processing.
• Problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, mentoring and interpersonal skills; adaptability to AI developments; and understanding of AI ethics, data privacy and bias. The role involves working with youths and adult learners.

Preferred qualifications

A master’s degree or Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or Data Science is highly preferred. Relevant AI/ML certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals, AWS Certified Machine Learning or Google AI Certification, are beneficial. The position is full-time.
