About this role
The Responsible AI Specialist (AVP) reports to the Group Data Office’s Responsible AI Lead. Based at OCBC Singapore in an on-site, full-time role, the specialist independently validates critical AI solutions to assess whether they are fit for purpose and meet the bank’s AI governance standards. The role identifies limitations and risks and recommends controls to support responsible AI use.
Responsibilities
- Validate traditional machine learning models across the model lifecycle, and design validation frameworks, methodologies and testing approaches for generative AI and agentic AI systems.
- Review model evaluation results for groundedness, factual accuracy, retrieval quality, relevance and instruction adherence. Assess the reliability of LLM-as-a-Judge methods by calibrating them against human-labelled benchmarks.
- Test AI guardrails and evaluate agentic systems’ tool-use permissions, action reversibility and human-in-the-loop controls. Document findings, risks, limitations and recommendations, and communicate validation outcomes.
- Improve validation methodologies, evidence standards and reusable testing assets; advise Risk, Technology, Internal Audit and business stakeholders. Track changes in AI technology, regulatory expectations and industry practices.
Required:
- An advanced degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related AI governance discipline.
- 5–8 years of model validation and testing experience in banking or another regulated environment, including the ability to apply traditional model risk management principles to generative and agentic AI.
- Hands-on experience designing and executing GenAI evaluations and testing frameworks, and using ML/GenAI frameworks and cloud-based AI services. Understanding of AI lifecycle management, bias and fairness, explainability, controls, guardrails and monitoring is required, along with risk assessment and strong written and verbal communication for regulatory-grade documentation and senior or non-technical audiences.
Preferred
Familiarity with MAS and other frameworks for AI risk, data governance, technology risk, information security and third-party risk; experience developing model-management, governance or risk platforms; and exposure to AI-related industry forums, regulatory working groups or governance committees.
