About this role
At NTU’s Alibaba-NTU Global e-Sustainability CorpLab (ANGEL), the Research Engineer will develop Green AI technologies that improve the efficiency, sustainability and scalability of AI systems. The role combines research and engineering in large language models, efficient machine learning and AI systems, with the aim of turning research into practical sustainable-computing solutions. The position is based at NTU Main Campus, Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development and implementation of machine-learning and LLM algorithms for Green AI applications.
- Research efficient AI techniques, including model optimization, parameter-efficient fine-tuning, self-training, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering and efficient inference.
- Conduct experiments, benchmark algorithms and analyze performance using rigorous scientific methods.
- Contribute to AI conference and journal publications; collaborate with academic and industry teams to translate research into deployable technologies.
- Stay current with developments in Green AI, foundation models, code intelligence and AI systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong background in machine learning, deep learning and LLMs; experience with large-scale datasets and distributed model training.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with deep-learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills. No minimum number of years of experience is specified.
