Group Data Office - AI Product Builder (VP)

The AI Product Builder in OCBC’s AI Lab owns the roadmap for selected AI solutions and leads rapid 0-to-1 prototyping through to production outcomes. Reporting to the Data Science Squad Lead, the role combines product stewardship, hands-on building and engineering delivery for the bank’s AI products.

Responsibilities

• Advise business chief product owners on AI product vision, roadmaps and success metrics. Translate business needs into defined outcomes and technical direction while balancing experimentation with scalability and sustainability.
• Build and iterate prototypes using modern AI and automation tools, including AI-assisted and agentic engineering approaches. Work with Data Science squads to validate business value and accelerate delivery.
• Design prototypes for production, then partner with engineering and platform squads on deployment in line with enterprise security, reliability and maintainability standards.
• Connect business, product, design, data science and engineering stakeholders, and contribute reusable patterns and best practices to the AI Lab.

Requirements

• A strong hands-on background in data science or applied AI; at least 7–10 years of product management experience, including feature ownership or roadmap delivery; and experience taking solutions from concept to prototype, with exposure to production deployment.
• Programming and solution-building experience, such as Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; working knowledge of AI/ML systems and intelligent workflows; understanding of software engineering fundamentals and APIs; and the ability to rapidly prototype with vibe coding tools.
• Strong product thinking and communication, a builder mindset, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to work independently with senior stakeholders and business chief product owners on long-term roadmaps.

First-year goals include delivering 1–2 AI products or major capabilities through squad-led production deployment, establishing a roadmap with success metrics and measurable business impact, producing prototypes that need minimal rework, and building stakeholder trust.
