About this role
The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) is recruiting faculty at assistant, associate and professor levels to expand its applied AI research capability in Singapore. The role combines industry-connected research, teaching and supervision. The posting lists permanent and fixed-term employment arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to applied research with industry partners and government agencies in areas including advanced manufacturing and semiconductors, urban systems, AI-augmented engineering, AI safety and security, chemical engineering and biotechnology, healthcare, and hospitality and tourism.
- Develop and teach applied AI courses and interdisciplinary modules; supervise Industry Doctorate, Masters and capstone projects with domain faculty and industry partners; contribute to continuing education; and mentor domain faculty through joint projects and co-supervision.
Qualifications
- A PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant domain, with demonstrated AI/ML research experience. Equivalent industry experience may also be considered.
- Deep expertise in one or more areas such as physics-informed neural networks and surrogate modelling; time-series modelling and anomaly detection; Bayesian methods and uncertainty quantification; LLMs and multimodal models; graph neural networks; reinforcement learning; edge AI and model optimisation; trustworthy AI; spatiotemporal data engineering; or digital twins and simulation.
- Experience applying AI to SIT’s focus areas; demonstrated leadership on industry- or society-defined problems; experience with industry research collaborations, applied research grants or system deployment; and evidence of professional standing and impact. Evidence may include publications, keynotes, open-source tools, technical reports, patents or deployed systems. Cross-disciplinary collaboration, supervision, mentoring and communication with varied audiences are also important.
