AI Engineer, Full Stack

Join AI Singapore’s Data Platform team within AI Products, hosted at Nanyang Technological University’s main campus in Singapore. The ATLAS Data Platform supports a global effort to collect multimodal language and cultural data. This role develops and deploys full-stack modules for data collection, curation and access, as well as tools for evaluations, benchmarks and annotation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs and data models. Write tested, maintainable code; contribute to reviews, design discussions and technical documentation.
• Use AI tools such as Claude, Copilot and Cursor for code generation, refactoring, review, debugging and documentation, and help establish effective AI-assisted development practices.
• Build model and data evaluation features, benchmark execution and result tracking. Develop annotation workflows for internal teams and external partners, including task design, quality control, reviews and progress tracking. Integrate relevant frameworks and tools, weighing whether to build or adopt them.
• Deploy and maintain services on GCP and AWS. Maintain CI/CD, monitoring, logging and alerting; manage cloud costs and contribute to decisions about scalability, multi-region operation and data residency. Collaborate with project managers, data engineers, researchers and partners; participate in incident response and post-mortems.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent, and around 2–3 years of full-stack development experience shipping production features. Experience with a modern web stack, such as TypeScript/React, Python or Node.js, REST/GraphQL APIs, and SQL and/or NoSQL data stores.
• Hands-on GCP and AWS deployment experience, including containerised workloads, managed services and CI/CD. Demonstrated day-to-day use of AI engineering tools; familiarity with data pipelines, storage, metadata, catalogues and access controls; and working knowledge of AI/ML evaluation, benchmarking and/or annotation workflows. Strong communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders, cultures and time zones is expected.
• Bonus: multimodal data systems spanning text, audio, images or video; open-source AI/data tooling contributions; or experience in Singapore public-sector or research programmes.
