About this role
gStride AI is hiring an AI Product Engineer to build productivity-intelligence features for mid-market teams. The role owns vertical slices from data pipeline and model through API and product surface, working alongside two senior engineers and directly with the AI Product Lead and founder. The position is based in Ahmedabad, with remote work available within India for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Ship end-to-end AI features in 1–3 week vertical slices, including focus-mosaic scoring, recommendation generation and anomaly detection. Integrate prompts, RAG and evaluation into LLM-augmented workflows.
- Build an audit-trail and explainability layer so AI scores can be reproduced from source events. Own ML evaluation pipelines covering golden-dataset labeling, inter-rater agreement, A/B harnesses and pre-deployment regression gates.
- Co-design integrations across the Capture, Signal, Recommendation and Action architecture; develop product specifications directly with the founder; and test the product internally.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of software engineering experience, with Python, TypeScript or Node.js as a primary stack. At least one AI or ML feature shipped to production end-to-end is required; notebook-only work does not qualify.
- Strong SQL, system design, API design and data-modeling fundamentals. Production experience with prompt engineering, RAG, agent workflows and evaluation, plus familiarity with Azure Static Web Apps, Functions and AI services.
- Privacy-first, anti-surveillance values; native or near-native English, strong written communication for specifications and technical documents, and comfort working through founder-led ambiguity. Hindi or Gujarati is a bonus.
Production stack includes Vue 3, Node.js Azure Functions, PostgreSQL, Redis, AgentDB’s HNSW vector index, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI and Azure OpenAI. Python ML services are planned. The team uses Claude Code, Cursor and GitHub Copilot. Compensation is INR 25–50L annual base plus an ESOP grant; benefits include health insurance and a current INR 50K annual learning budget.
