Workplace AI Architect

The Workplace AI Architect defines and governs adoption of AI across workplace and platform-based solutions, particularly embedded capabilities such as Microsoft 365 Copilot, AI assistants and collaboration tools. The role coordinates Software Development, Data & Analytics, business users and platform owners to move from ad-hoc AI use to controlled, scalable adoption of existing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the workplace AI roadmap and adoption of out-of-the-box capabilities; contribute to enterprise AI architecture. Evaluate, pilot and roll out preview features and vendor early-access offerings, prioritizing platform capabilities over new builds.
• Establish a single entry point, risk-based approvals and self-service guardrails for AI initiatives. Govern services, APIs, integrations and AI agents; maintain ownership and inventory of AI assets and controls throughout their build, publish, operate and retire lifecycle.
• Route work between out-of-the-box and early-access adoption, business-led citizen development, custom development and advanced integrations, and analytics-driven solutions. Apply controls appropriate to experiment, managed and production environments.
• Work with Infosec on AI security controls, third-party AI usage, GDPR and EU AI Act compliance, and shadow-AI risk. Measure business value, establish consumption-based chargeback, track adoption and deliver templates, documentation, onboarding and training.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in enterprise IT, architecture or transformation, including governance, platform strategy or large-scale adoption; senior expert or enterprise architect-level expertise. A university degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field is sought.
• Strong understanding of enterprise AI platforms, assistants, agent-based tooling and generative-AI architectures; experience establishing governance frameworks or platform-adoption strategies. Knowledge of platform-versus-custom-development decisions, operating models, licensing, cloud platforms, AI security controls and applicable regulation is expected. Familiarity with chargeback or FinOps and fluent English are required.
• Strategic thinking, pragmatic communication and the ability to explain technical standards to business users and citizen developers are important. The Microsoft ecosystem is preferred; Microsoft, AI or cloud certifications and additional languages are preferred, while security and compliance certifications are a plus.
