Sharpen your knowledge

Topics to prepare

  • Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) Architectures

Review the conceptual flow of RAG, specifically how context layers and knowledge frameworks integrate with LLMs to improve output accuracy. Exercise: Diagram a RAG pipeline that connects a vector database to an LLM, identifying where data retrieval and prompt augmentation occur. This is essential for the role's focus on building enterprise AI solutions.

  • Customer Lifecycle Dynamics

Study the stages of customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and product adoption. Exercise: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for each stage of the customer lifecycle and map them to potential data-driven interventions. This is relevant for the role's primary purpose of driving business growth through analytics.

Skills to revise

  • SQL and Python for Data Wrangling

Practice querying and manipulating large structured and unstructured datasets. Exercise: Write a Python script using pandas to clean a messy dataset and a complex SQL query involving multiple joins to extract customer behavior trends. This is a core requirement for the daily analytical tasks described.

  • Vector Database Implementation

Gain familiarity with vector database concepts such as embeddings and semantic search. Exercise: Use a library like FAISS or Chroma to index a small set of documents and perform a semantic similarity search. This directly addresses the requirement for hands-on experience with vector databases and knowledge retrieval mechanisms.

  • Prompt Engineering and Model Evaluation

Understand best practices for crafting prompts and evaluating AI model performance. Exercise: Create a set of test prompts for a specific business use case and define a rubric to evaluate the relevance and accuracy of the model's responses. This is critical for the role's responsibility to establish AI governance and evaluation frameworks.

04

Your preparation checklist

  • Prepare a RAG project walkthrough

Develop a concise presentation of a project where you built a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) system. Focus on your choice of vector database (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS), how you managed the context layer, and the specific metrics you used to evaluate the model's accuracy and relevance.

  • Demonstrate SQL and Python proficiency for customer analytics

Prepare code samples or a portfolio piece that demonstrates your ability to wrangle large, messy datasets. Show how you performed exploratory data analysis to derive actionable insights regarding customer lifecycle, retention, or propensity modeling.

  • Review AI governance and prompt engineering best practices

Be ready to discuss your approach to prompt engineering and AI model evaluation. Prepare to explain how you ensure data integrity and consistency when building knowledge frameworks for enterprise-grade AI applications.
