About this role
Ampere is seeking a senior, hands-on individual contributor in Pune to build and operate the engineering foundation for enterprise AI. The role spans shared platform services, knowledge and retrieval systems, MCP integrations, and agent workflows. The engineer will make design decisions, write production code, set technical standards, and remain accountable for systems after release, working with engineering, data, IT, security, and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Build shared services, APIs, automations, and integrations for access to approved AI models, enterprise data, and business tools. Improve deployment, reliability, performance, monitoring, logging, incident response, and operating documentation.
- Develop embeddings, indexing, and retrieval for technical and enterprise knowledge. Improve search through hybrid retrieval, metadata filtering, access-aware results, reranking, query processing, and citations. Evaluate retrieval accuracy, grounding, latency, cost, and failure handling.
- Implement MCP clients, servers, and enterprise tool integrations. Define tool schemas, authentication, authorization, approvals, audit records, and lifecycle practices; maintain a governed tool catalog.
- Build agent workflows with tool use, execution state, approvals, scheduling, retries, checkpoints, cancellation, escalation, and human review. Measure task completion, workflow quality, reliability, latency, and cost.
- Apply enterprise identity and security controls, including OAuth2/OIDC, SSO, managed identities, RBAC, secrets management, and least-privilege access. Address prompt injection, data leakage, unsafe tool access, excessive permissions, and poor source provenance.
Requirements
- M.Tech in Computer Engineering or a related field with 3+ years of experience, or B.Tech in Computer Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of experience. Also requires 3+ years building production software, platform services, developer tools, data systems, or applied AI products.
- Strong software-engineering fundamentals; Python and TypeScript programming; React application development; enterprise APIs and integrations; experience with LLM applications, retrieval, MCP or comparable protocols, and reliable, auditable workflows. Working knowledge of Linux, Git, Docker, CI/CD, cloud deployment, observability, and incident response; sound security judgment.
Preferred
Rust, Tauri, or native desktop development; Azure AI and cloud services; search or vector platforms; orchestration and event-driven systems; Terraform or Bicep; Redis, caching, telemetry, and cost management; pytest, Vitest, Playwright, or AI evaluation frameworks; and semiconductor, advanced computing, developer-platform, or enterprise-engineering experience.
