Lead Software Engineer

Cadence is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Virtual Protocols Group in Noida, focusing on developing next-generation AI-driven engineering systems for Accelerated Verification IP (AVIP). This role involves building scalable, production-grade systems that integrate AI with electronic design automation (EDA) technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Core Software Development: Design and implement features for AI-driven development frameworks, developer tools, and automation systems using C++.
• Generative AI & LLM Engineering: Contribute to model fine-tuning, prompt engineering, model steering, and benchmarking. Build and maintain training data pipelines including generation, cleaning, and validation.
• Agentic Workflow Development: Work on multi-agent systems for task decomposition, code generation, and self-validation loops, and contribute to orchestration frameworks connecting LLMs with developer tools.
• Systems & Performance Engineering: Develop performance-critical components using modern C++ (C++20/23/26) and low-level optimization techniques, utilizing GPU acceleration where applicable.
• Validation & Quality: Maintain unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and ensure engineering quality standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-geography AVIP teams, AI/ML engineers, and verification engineers.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (with AI-focused projects) or Electronics/Electrical Engineering (with Embedded System/HPC/Device Driver projects).
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong programming proficiency in C++, Rust, or Python.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design, and debugging.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments, Git/Perforce, and compiler ecosystems (e.g., Clang).
• Experience or coursework in hardware description languages (SystemVerilog/SystemC) and parallel/GPU computing.
