About this role
The Lead AI Engineer is a hands-on builder in SimCorp’s SMBS AI team, working under the technical direction of the Director, AI Solutions. The role takes AI agent solutions from design to production, integrating them with SimCorp’s wider AI ecosystem while meeting platform, infrastructure, compliance, reliability and maintainability standards. Engineers retain ownership of the agents they build after deployment.
Responsibilities
- Build and deploy production-ready AI agents within sprint timelines. Implement agent logic, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines and LLM API integrations.
- Design and execute agent-behaviour tests covering edge cases, accuracy and performance. Communicate technical risks, resolve bugs and improve agents using operator feedback and usage tracking.
- Monitor agents in production, respond to incidents and adapt solutions when data sources, operational processes or infrastructure change. Participate in support rotations once multiple agents are live.
- Review code, evaluate tools and approaches with the Director, mentor AI Engineers, and work with Data Engineers on reliable, performant data pipelines.
Requirements
At least 5 years of software engineering experience focused on AI/ML, NLP or data-intensive applications; the posting also describes the role as typically requiring 5+ years in production AI/ML engineering. Strong Python proficiency, practical experience with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures and vector databases, and experience deploying and maintaining AI/ML applications in production are required. Candidates should work autonomously within shared solution standards, own production outcomes and explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. Experience in financial services or operational environments is beneficial.
Working arrangement and benefits: This full-time position is based in Noida. SimCorp’s hybrid policy asks employees to work from the office two days a week, with the option to work remotely on other days. Every sixth sprint is reserved for planning and innovation; the posting also highlights self-directed work and involvement in shaping team processes.
