About this role
General Mills seeks an Analyst – Demand Forecasting to support demand planning by improving and standardizing forecasting processes and helping increase forecast accuracy. The position is hybrid in Powai, Mumbai, MH, and requires working a 1:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. shift.
Responsibilities
- Analyze outputs from time series and causal forecasting models, and prepare analysis-of-change reports that explain findings to stakeholders and support decisions.
- Identify patterns and trends in complex datasets through descriptive analysis to aid diagnosis and prediction. Assess forecast accuracy, bias and other performance measures; use root cause analysis to identify improvements against business targets.
- Extract data from primary and secondary sources using SQL/PL/SQL and automated tools such as Tableau dashboards and Google Cloud Platform.
- Work with stakeholders to align demand forecasts. Coordinate with technical and data science teams to identify process improvements, validate outputs and propose modifications.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in operations research, statistics, supply chain or another relevant field, plus 1–2 years of data analysis experience.
- Working knowledge of Tableau, Power BI or Looker; familiarity with time series techniques such as exponential smoothing and ARIMA, and other machine learning techniques.
- Proficiency in statistics and tools such as R, Python, Excel and SQL; basic knowledge of supply chain, consumer packaged goods or retail, and cloud environments such as GCP, AWS or Azure.
- Analytical and problem-solving ability, stakeholder management, communication, presentation skills and business acumen.
Preferred qualifications
A master’s degree in applied mathematics, statistics, industrial engineering or supply chain; certifications in data analytics or supply chain are also preferred. Applicants must meet the minimum age requirements in the country where the job is located.
