Solution Architect - Azure with AI

EPAM Systems seeks a Solution Architect - Azure with AI to lead the design and delivery of scalable, AI-driven solutions in the Azure ecosystem. The role focuses on GenAI platforms that support business goals and long-term architecture strategy. The posting lists offices in Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership from solution design through implementation. Work with Product Managers and stakeholders to refine user stories and turn business requirements into scalable solutions.
• Create architecture blueprints covering system design, integrations and GenAI platform components. Lead development and deployment of RAG applications, AI automation solutions and intelligent interfaces.
• Establish practices for performance, scalability, security and cost optimization. Mentor engineering teams, support code quality and delivery, and guide technical decisions and risk mitigation.
• Integrate solutions with enterprise systems through APIs, Microsoft Graph and other external services.

Requirements

• 12–16 years of software engineering experience and expertise building scalable Azure applications with Azure Functions, Web Apps, API Management and Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on Generative AI experience with Azure OpenAI, prompt engineering and RAG implemented using Azure AI Search. Background in chatbots, automation workflows and NLP-based applications.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Bicep or ARM templates, plus CI/CD and DevOps practices. Programming skills in Python or C#/.NET, with exposure to FastAPI or Web APIs.
• Ability to design unstructured-data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, enrichment and indexing; understanding of distributed systems, scalability, performance optimization and monitoring with Azure Application Insights. Familiarity with agentic frameworks or orchestration tools such as LangChain or Semantic Kernel, or with multi-agent systems.

Preferred

Kubernetes or container deployments with AKS; multi-region deployments and high-availability architecture; SonarCloud or similar code-quality tools; and product-based or platform engineering experience.
