About this role
The Principal Data and Agentic Architect role sits within AWS Professional Services. The posting describes a customer-facing Delivery Consultant who designs, implements and manages AWS solutions aligned with customers’ technical requirements and business objectives. The role supports enterprise cloud initiatives throughout project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex, scalable and secure AWS solutions; gather stakeholder requirements, assess existing infrastructure and propose migration strategies.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting, lead implementation, apply best practices, optimize performance and manage project risks.
- Advise customers on industry trends and emerging technologies. Share knowledge through mentoring, training and reusable artifacts.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Math.
- 7+ years of IT platform implementation experience in a technical and analytical role; 5+ years applying machine learning to complex problems in large-scale applications; and 8+ years processing data with massively parallel technology, such as Redshift, Teradata, Netezza, Spark or a Hadoop-based big data solution.
- Knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, Ruby or Perl. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting complex technical information to executives and non-technical leaders.
Preferred qualifications
- A master’s degree or equivalent in a listed quantitative or technical field, or experience with AWS solutions including EC2, S3, Redshift and EMR or Hadoop.
- Experience with managed ML/AI solutions; machine learning and large language model fundamentals, including architecture, training and inference lifecycles, and model-execution optimization; or production use of vLLM, SGLang, TensorRT or similar platforms.
- AWS Professional-level certification, or a bachelor’s degree in a listed business or technical field; 4+ years of professional experience, or experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings; and familiarity with generative AI trends, patterns and anti-patterns.
