Specialist Cloud Engineer – AWS

As a Specialist Cloud Engineer – AWS at Amgen, you will design, develop, and support cloud-native operations and solutions that enable scalable, reliable, and secure cloud platforms. You will work closely with Cloud Engineering, Cloud Operations, Automation, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to build innovative solutions, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the developer and user experience across Amgen's cloud ecosystem. This is an on-site position in Hyderabad requiring flexibility to support a global operating model, including work outside standard business hours, weekends, and on-call shifts for 24x7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI/GenAI-powered cloud solutions, leveraging intelligent agents and workflow automation.
• Build, manage, and support secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud platforms.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Implement automation, observability, and AIOps capabilities.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Support AWS FinOps activities, including cost optimization and budgeting.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 6-8 years of experience (min 3 years in AWS engineering), OR Bachelor’s degree with 8-10 years (min 4 years in AWS engineering), OR Diploma with 10-12 years (min 5 years in AWS engineering).
• Deep expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS, IAM, VPC, etc.).
• Experience in SRE principles, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Amazon Bedrock, Agent Core, and modern cloud automation frameworks.
• Expertise in cloud security, compliance, and risk controls.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale AWS and GCP environments.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.
