Software Developer – Senior I – RPA / AI Engineer

The RPA / AI Engineer will work with FedEx Information Security teams in Hyderabad to analyze business processes and build scalable automation. The role combines RPA, agentic AI workflows and chatbots to improve operational efficiency and support cross-functional security teams. It includes developing agents that can reason, plan and interact with users and other systems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design workflows; build, test, implement and support RPA projects and AI-driven chatbots while maintaining system quality.
• Assess AI opportunities and technical feasibility, develop solutions and contribute to Solution Design Documents or Technical Design Documents with reusability in mind.
• Coordinate with IT teams and architects on technology choices, improve existing processes, resolve code issues and deliver iteratively in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• 7–9 years of overall experience, including a minimum of 3–6 years of relevant experience in RPA, AI agent development, generative AI chatbots, NLP and related technologies. The posting also lists four years of application or software design and development experience for the Senior I grade.
• Strong Automation Anywhere development experience and proficiency building Google Cloud Platform AI agents capable of multi-step reasoning and iterative planning. Experience implementing RAG chatbots and vector-based search is required.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Java or C#; experience with NLP libraries and conversational platforms; understanding of machine learning frameworks; RESTful API integration; familiarity with SQL, NoSQL and front-end technologies.
• Analytical, problem-solving, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience in end-to-end AI management and Agile software development. The education section lists a bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, electrical/electronics engineering, MIS or a related discipline; the role-specific requirements describe a computer science or related degree as preferred.

Preferred or advantageous experience includes LLM-powered automation, AI orchestration frameworks, conversational AI platforms, enterprise-scale intelligent automation, Microsoft Power Apps Automation, Co-Pilot AI, OCR tools, Power BI, Lean and Design Thinking.
