01

Understand the role

What matters most

  • Deliver measurable enterprise AIOps outcomes

The posting calls for production-scale GenAI-powered AIOps that improves MTTR and supports automated incident resolution. Prepare to explain architectural decisions and how operational improvements were measured, without assuming a particular target.

  • Architect GenAI retrieval and model workflows

The role covers LLM solutions, RAG, vector search, and MLOps deployment workflows. Prepare to explain how retrieval, model deployment, and evaluation fit into an operational use case rather than presenting tools in isolation.

  • Automate cloud-native infrastructure securely

Responsibilities span AWS, Azure, GCP, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and DevSecOps. Prepare to discuss choices for scaling, deployment, and security automation across those layers.

  • Connect observability to incident workflows

The posting requires end-to-end observability and integration with ServiceNow and other ITSM tools. Prepare to trace how telemetry becomes a useful incident signal and then an appropriate workflow action.

  • Provide architectural direction

The architect is expected to guide leadership and engineering teams on AIOps and operational intelligence. Prepare to communicate design trade-offs and operational outcomes at both strategic and implementation levels.

Likely challenges to think through

  • Speed versus control in incident automation

A likely design challenge is reducing MTTR without allowing an incorrect AI-generated action to worsen an incident; this is a preparation hypothesis, not a reported EPAM problem. Prepare to discuss confidence thresholds, validation, and when to require human approval.

  • Integration breadth versus architectural simplicity

Supporting multiple cloud, observability, and ITSM technologies may complicate data flows and maintenance; this is an inference from the scope of the posting. Prepare to explain where common interfaces help and where platform-specific capabilities justify exceptions.

  • Useful detection versus alert noise

Combining anomaly detection, retrieval, and operational telemetry may make it hard to distinguish actionable incidents from noisy signals; this is a likely trade-off, not a confirmed issue. Prepare to discuss signal quality, evaluation against incident outcomes, and feedback into model or workflow improvements.

Practice your answers

Technical practice

How would you architect an enterprise AIOps platform to reduce MTTR?

What to coverSuggested preparation: Trace the flow from operational signals through detection, diagnosis, recommended action and incident resolution. Explain scalability and reliability trade-offs, and how you would measure MTTR and automation outcomes.

How would you choose and govern an LLM or agentic approach for incident operations?

Discuss signal quality, alert noise and how you would validate a suspected root cause.

How would you integrate AI-driven actions with ITSM incident workflows?

What to coverSuggested preparation: Map detection and recommendations to incident creation, updates, escalation and resolution in a platform such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management or Manage Engine. Address duplicate incidents, approvals and an audit trail for automated actions.
