01

Understand the role

What matters most

  • Defining AI-Powered Software Delivery Strategies

Help global clients shape and translate transformation ambitions into executable approaches, focusing on how software is imagined, designed, built, tested, secured, and delivered using AI.

  • Designing Target State SDLC and Tooling Architecture

Create platform and tooling strategies, engineering productivity measures, and delivery operating model changes that result in measurable enterprise value realization.

  • Owning End-to-End Workstreams and Client Engagement

Take a defined part of an engagement end-to-end—such as agent hierarchies or use-case and data-product definitions—serving as the day-to-day client contact for C-suite stakeholders.

  • Engaging C-Suite Stakeholders

Collaborate directly with CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, and engineering leaders to rethink software delivery and drive adoption of AI-native engineering at scale.

Likely challenges to think through

  • Translating High-Level AI Ambitions into Executable Roadmaps

Clients often have broad ambitions around generative AI and AI-native software engineering without clear execution steps. The difficulty lies in bridging abstract vision with concrete, measurable SDLC transformation strategies. Prepare by structuring frameworks that map AI use cases directly to productivity metrics and target architecture.

  • Managing End-to-End Workstreams as Day-to-Day Contact

Owning specific engagement components like agent hierarchies or domain data products while coordinating with senior client stakeholders requires balancing tactical depth with client management. Prepare by reviewing structured approaches to modular workstream ownership, client communication, and agile delivery management.

  • Aligning Diverse C-Suite Stakeholders on Operating Model Changes

Different engineering and executive leaders (CIOs, CTOs, CDOs) may have conflicting priorities regarding tooling choices, security, and delivery speed. The challenge is achieving consensus on operating model changes. Prepare by practicing stakeholder management techniques that address competing technical and business objectives.

Practice your answers

Technical practice

How would you define and structure an AI-native Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for an enterprise client?

What to coverDiscuss how generative AI and AI-native engineering principles transform traditional phases like design, coding, testing, and security. Address how to redesign toolchains and architectures to integrate AI capabilities at scale while maintaining enterprise governance and compliance standards.

What strategy would you use to translate high-level AI transformation ambitions into executable roadmaps?

What to coverExplain the methodology for breaking down abstract boardroom goals into structured phases, deliverables, and actionable steps. Highlight how to align technical milestones with measurable business value realization and enterprise value delivery.

How do you design an agent hierarchy for an enterprise business process?

What to coverDiscuss principles of multi-agent coordination, task decomposition, and workflow orchestration within a specific domain. Explain how to define clear boundaries, inputs, and outputs for each agent in the hierarchy to optimize process efficiency.

What engineering productivity measures and metrics would you establish to evaluate AI-powered software delivery?

What to coverIdentify key performance indicators such as code generation velocity, defect reduction, cycle time improvement, and quality uplift. Explain how to baseline existing metrics and measure post-transformation ROI.

How do you approach platform and tooling strategy and architecture for AI-native software engineering?

What to coverDescribe how to evaluate and select developer tools, foundation models, and supporting infrastructure for enterprise deployment. Address trade-offs between proprietary and open-source models, security considerations, and integration with legacy systems.

How would you define data-product use cases for a specific domain within an enterprise engagement?

What to coverExplain the process of identifying high-impact data and AI use cases, defining data requirements, and structuring data products to support enterprise AI initiatives. Touch upon data governance, quality, and accessibility standards.

What approach do you take when managing delivery operating model changes during large-scale technology transformations?

What to coverDiscuss organizational change management, shifting team structures, and upskilling engineering workforces for an AI-native era. Address how to overcome cultural and operational resistance among engineering leaders.
