The Full Stack Platform Developer will play a critical role in building and maintaining AI platform interfaces, SDKs, and developer tools at MassMutual. This position focuses on creating AI-native user experiences and robust backend orchestration to support the organization's digital transformation. Responsibilities include: Experience Layer Engineering: Developing AI platform interfaces, SDKs, and reference applications. AI-Native User Experiences: Designing interaction patterns such as streaming responses, agent workflows, tool calls, citations, and human review processes. Backend Services & Orchestration: Building APIs, retrieval pipelines, model orchestration, caching, and observability services. Quality & Evaluation: Implementing tracing, evaluation frameworks, and feedback capture to measure and improve AI outcomes. Cross-Functional Delivery: Collaborating with Platform, ML, Product, and Infrastructure teams to establish AI development standards. Engineering Excellence: Contributing to reusable patterns, documentation, and code reviews. Qualifications: Candidates must have 5 to 8 years of experience in building and shipping production-grade full stack applications. Required technical skills include strong front-end expertise with TypeScript and React, and backend proficiency in Node.js, Python, or Golang. Experience in designing scalable APIs and cloud-native services is essential. Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience building with LLMs, including APIs, streaming, RAG, tool usage, and conversational AI. A strong product mindset with a focus on user experience, latency, and reliability is required. The role requires the ability to thrive in fast-moving environments and deliver independently. The company operates on a hybrid work model, requiring in-office attendance three days per week.
