About this role
Intro: Qualcomm is seeking a Systems Test Engineer to design, develop and execute validation for WLAN features and networking products with an emphasis on integration and validation of AI/ML-enabled features on embedded and edge platforms. The role combines traditional wireless/system-level testing with verification of AI-driven features and their impact on networking functionality.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop and execute test plans and test cases for WLAN features across Wi‑Fi standards; perform functional, regression, interoperability, stability and system-level testing.
- Analyze logs, packet captures and system traces to identify root causes; create detailed test and bug reports and quality metrics.
- Develop and maintain Python-based test scripts, utilities and automation frameworks; build test automation, log parsing and device management tools.
- Work closely with development teams to debug and resolve product issues; participate in feature reviews and provide testability feedback during design.
- Validate AI/ML-enabled features on embedded/edge platforms and verify integration of AI applications with wireless networking functionality.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications or related engineering field and a minimum of 4 years’ experience in WLAN QA, system testing or wireless product validation.
- Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with WLAN devices.
- Experience developing test automation scripts, log parsing/analysis tools, and device management/monitoring scripts.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
AI on embedded devices (required/desired capabilities):
- Understanding of AI/ML applications deployed on embedded or edge-computing platforms; experience validating AI-enabled features such as traffic classification/prioritization, intelligent networking features, parental control and edge AI inference applications.
- Ability to evaluate performance impacts of AI workloads on networking functionality; familiarity with AI deployment frameworks on embedded Linux is desirable.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Embedded Linux environments, container technologies and edge computing concepts; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows; basic understanding of edge AI frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite or ONNX Runtime; experience in Agile/Scrum teams.
Location & employment: Position based in Chennai, Tamil Nādu, India. Full-time, on-site role. Minimum/alternative qualification statements in the posting also list variant degree/experience combinations (e.g., Master’s with 1+ year or PhD) as acceptable per the listed minimum qualifications.
