Knowledge Engineer

Intro: Accenture is hiring a Knowledge Engineer to lead knowledge engineering within a large program, designing and structuring knowledge frameworks (ontologies, semantic models, knowledge graphs) that enable AI systems to reason and deliver automation and insights. The role leads a team, sets technical direction, and drives implementation of graph-powered Data & AI offerings and semantic-layer solutions for clients. Key responsibilities: - Lead design, development and implementation of knowledge graph and semantic solutions across program scope, including ontology/schema design and KG curation. - Capture and translate expert and unstructured knowledge into ontologies, knowledge graphs, and semantic models, ensuring contextual accuracy and data quality. - Build and justify business cases for semantic-layer solutions; work with project/delivery leads and client stakeholders; contribute to sales and pre-sales efforts. - Apply advanced analytics on knowledge graphs and develop graph-based ML models to derive actionable insights and problem-solving capabilities. - Guide end-to-end delivery for the scope, mentor and manage team members, make team-level decisions, and provide thought leadership externally. Required qualifications & experience: - Minimum 12 years of relevant experience; 15 years full-time education required. - Must-have: proficiency in Microsoft Azure Data Services. - Several years (typical minimums listed) of experience with Knowledge Graph technologies (RDF, SPARQL, LPG, SHACL), schema/ontology design and KG curation, designing and developing KG solutions and graph-based ML models, and end-to-end data pipeline implementations for AI applications (esp. LLMs). - Experience with relational databases, object stores, graph databases (Stardog, Neo4j, Amazon Neptune), vector databases, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Hands-on Python experience and familiarity with frameworks and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and ETL/orchestration tools (Apache NiFi, Airflow). - Practical experience with NLP and/or search techniques; prompt engineering and enterprise-scale LLMs; team leadership and client-facing consulting experience. Preferred / additional: - Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics or related field is listed as an educational preference. - Broad experience in diverse ML techniques and agentic systems; publication or external presentation is encouraged. Tools, techniques and domain notes: - Emphasis on knowledge graphs, semantic modelling, prompt engineering and integration with LLMs. - Expect cross-functional collaboration across engineering, research and product teams; work with large-scale datasets and cloud-based data integration/transform pipelines.
