01

Understand the role

What matters most

  • Own the enterprise AI architecture strategy

The role owns an AI architecture strategy aligned with business objectives and transformation initiatives, working with C-suite stakeholders and technical teams. Preparation suggestion: be ready to explain how architectural decisions connect to business outcomes at both executive and engineering levels.

  • Deliver end-to-end generative and agentic AI architecture

The posting calls for multi-agent designs and orchestration, from LLM selection and context engineering through deployment and integration. Preparation suggestion: organize an architecture example around those decisions and their trade-offs, rather than a list of technologies.

  • Turn experimentation into measurable value

The role drives proofs of concept, pilots and reusable accelerators with measurable business outcomes. Preparation suggestion: explain how to define success measures and decide whether an experiment is ready to be reused or scaled.

  • Establish responsible AI controls

Establishing and enforcing AI governance, compliance and ethical AI frameworks is an explicit duty. Preparation suggestion: show how controls can be incorporated into architecture and delivery, not treated only as a final review.

Likely challenges to think through

  • Balancing enterprise standards with integration needs

Likely challenge, not a stated employer problem: a common architecture may need to work across different cloud and enterprise ecosystems without becoming too rigid. Prepare to discuss which standards should remain consistent and where integration choices should vary by context.

  • Controlling agent autonomy without losing utility

Likely challenge: multi-agent orchestration can increase capability while making behavior harder to observe and govern. Prepare to explain trade-offs among agent responsibilities, oversight and observability; agent lifecycle and interoperability standards are listed as differentiators.

  • Moving from pilot to dependable deployment

Likely challenge: a fast proof of concept may demonstrate value without resolving security, integration or operational concerns at enterprise scale. Prepare a decision framework for when to advance a pilot, what evidence of business value to require and what must change before deployment.

Topics to prepare

  • Enterprise AI architecture and strategy

The role owns enterprise AI architecture strategy aligned with business objectives and digital transformation. As a revision exercise, take a hypothetical business objective and explain how it would shape architecture principles, priorities and measures of success.

  • TOGAF and Zachman

The posting calls for deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and Zachman. Revise by comparing how each would help describe stakeholders, systems and architecture decisions for the same AI initiative.

  • Generative and multi-agent architecture

Designing generative AI, agentic AI, multi-agent systems and orchestration frameworks is central to the role. Sketch a conceptual agent workflow and explain task allocation, coordination and failure handling.

  • LLM-to-enterprise solution lifecycle

The role spans LLM selection and context engineering through deployment and integration. Trace those decisions for one hypothetical enterprise use case, explaining how scalability and security affect the design.

  • Responsible AI governance

Establishing governance, compliance and ethical AI frameworks is a stated responsibility. Revise by outlining decision rights and review points for an AI solution; agent lifecycle, observability and interoperability standards are additional stand-out areas in the posting.

Skills to revise

  • Produce an end-to-end architecture blueprint

Practice drawing a solution that connects an LLM, its context, an orchestration layer and enterprise integration and deployment boundaries. Annotate scalability and security decisions, reflecting the role’s end-to-end architecture responsibility.

  • Work through a multi-agent design

For a hypothetical workflow, specify agents’ responsibilities, orchestration steps, handoffs and a failure path. This exercises the hands-on multi-agent design called for in the posting; a prototype is a preparation suggestion, not a stated interview requirement.

  • Compare cloud AI platform options

Create a short decision table for implementing the same architecture on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, noting integration and deployment trade-offs. The posting explicitly seeks experience with these cloud-based AI platforms.

  • Scope a measurable pilot

Draft a one-page PoC or pilot plan with an architecture hypothesis, success measure and decision to continue or stop. This reflects the responsibility to develop PoCs, pilots and reusable accelerators with measurable business outcomes.

  • Present an architecture decision to executives

Practice a brief explanation of an AI architecture choice, its business outcome, principal risk and trade-off, followed by a technical handoff summary. The role works with C-suite stakeholders and engineering teams; strong executive communication is listed as a stand-out qualification.

04

Your preparation checklist

  • Map the stated requirements to evidence

Prepare a one-page evidence map for the posting’s 18+ years in IT, 5+ years in AI/ML, generative and agentic AI experience, enterprise architecture frameworks, and cloud AI platforms. Note where you have concrete examples and where you would need to explain a gap.

  • Build an enterprise architecture walkthrough

Select a real project you can discuss and prepare a diagram showing how its architecture supported business objectives and digital transformation. Be ready to explain your decisions and distinguish your own contributions from the team’s.

  • Practice an end-to-end AI design exercise

As interview preparation, sketch a hypothetical enterprise multi-agent solution covering orchestration, LLM selection, context engineering, security, deployment, and integration. State assumptions and trade-offs rather than presenting the design as a Cognizant project.

  • Prepare a measurable delivery example

If you have one, outline a PoC or pilot from initial objective through evaluation and deployment decision. Bring the measures used to assess business outcomes and explain whether anything became a reusable accelerator.

  • Draft a responsible-AI review

Prepare a short example of how you would address governance, compliance, and ethical AI in an enterprise design. Include proposed agent lifecycle, observability, and interoperability checks; the posting identifies these standards as a way to stand out.

  • Rehearse an executive-level explanation

Turn one architecture example into a brief C-suite narrative: business goal, options considered, major risks, recommendation, and measurable outcome. If applicable, prepare a separate example of mentoring architects or scaling AI capabilities.

  • Write targeted questions for the employer

Ask how architecture ownership is divided among strategists, architects, and engineering teams; which cloud and enterprise platforms matter for this assignment; and how PoC outcomes are measured. Clarify the office location and five-day in-office expectation, since the role text specifies Chennai, Bangalore, or Hyderabad despite the listing’s Hybrid label.
