The Senior / Lead Platform Forward Deployed Engineer will own the deployment architecture for Cogentiq I2C, Fractal's agentic AI platform for invoice-to-cash operations. This role focuses on the deployment machinery and infrastructure required to stand up the platform in client Azure tenancies. Responsibilities include managing environment readiness, bundle strategy, and release sequencing while ensuring platform standards like idempotency and fail-fast error handling are enforced. You will act as the technical face of the deployment to client stakeholders, navigate complex governance and metastore provisioning, and manage incident command during hypercare. The role requires building and maintaining a deployment playbook to streamline future installations. Required qualifications: 6 or more years in data platform or deployment engineering, with at least 2 years of experience deploying into external client environments. Deep expertise in Azure Databricks (Asset Bundles, Unity Catalog, workflows) is essential. Strong proficiency in Python and SQL is required, along with experience in PostgreSQL, CI/CD pipelines, and domain knowledge in order-to-cash or accounts receivable data structures. Candidates must demonstrate client-facing composure and the ability to coach junior engineers. Preferred qualifications include experience with Microsoft Fabric and observability tools like OpenTelemetry or Application Insights.
