Senior Data Scientist

Epsilon’s Automotive Data Science team seeks a Senior Data Scientist in Bengaluru, India, for a full-time, hybrid role. The team develops analytics and modeling solutions for automotive manufacturers and dealerships, supporting retail and after-sales customer acquisition, engagement and retention. The role takes projects from business requirements through actionable insights, works with internal and external partners, and coaches junior data scientists.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end data science projects: explore, process and aggregate data; engineer features; build and validate predictive models; and explain results and recommendations to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Apply regression, classification, clustering, tree-based algorithms, support vector machines, neural networks, recommender systems and attribution modeling to business problems.
• Improve models by incorporating new data sources and features, testing enhancements and tuning parameters. Define requirements for analytical capabilities, platforms and pipelines.
• Collaborate across teams to automate processes, improve efficiency and scale solutions; support project delivery and mentor junior colleagues.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, economics, mathematics, data science or business analytics.
• 5–7 years of experience as a data scientist deploying data science projects, plus 5+ years of coding experience with Python, PySpark and SQL.
• Hands-on understanding of machine learning and deep learning algorithms; understanding of large language models, generative AI, Databricks and AWS or Azure. Experience with large datasets and scalable solutions.
• Ability to work independently amid ambiguity, with strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation, written and verbal communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

Knowledge of the automotive business and digital marketing campaigns.
