Platform Solution Architect

Role Purpose: Fractal is seeking a hands-on Solution Architect to own the end-to-end architecture of their platform, driving its evolution as the company scales. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining a multi-service application that integrates backend, frontend, AI/ML services, and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own technical architecture end-to-end, including backend services, frontend, data stores, and cloud infrastructure.
• Design and evolve microservices using Java and Spring Boot on AWS, with expansion into GCP and Azure.
• Guide development of Python FastAPI-based AI services, including integration with OpenAI and Vapi for conversational/voice AI.
• Define data architecture for MongoDB and Redis.
• Architect real-time communication (WebSockets) and messaging workflows (MSG91, WhatsApp).
• Set technical direction for Angular/TypeScript/Tailwind CSS frontend and Electron desktop apps.
• Establish observability standards using Grafana and Sentry.
• Manage authentication via Microsoft SSO and identity providers.
• Lead integrations with third-party HRMS/ATS systems and act as a technical point of contact for clients.
• Mentor engineering teams and conduct architecture reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8-14 years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years designing and owning system architecture for production applications at scale.
• Demonstrated experience architecting systems combining backend, frontend, cloud, and third-party integrations.
• Experience presenting technical solutions to clients or in pre-sales contexts.
• Strong understanding of security, data privacy, and compliance relevant to HR/candidate data.
• Prior experience in HR-tech, staffing, or workforce-management platforms is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with conversational AI, voice bot platforms, and prompt engineering for LLM-based features is required.
