About this role
The Lead Data Scientist joins LSEG’s Emerging Tech Standard Delivery Team in IND-Bangalore-A, RMZ Infinity, India. The team develops enterprise-ready, data-driven solutions for Data & Analytics Operations. This manager-stage role leads complex data science initiatives and works with Operations, Technology and specialist machine-learning teams to create measurable business and customer value.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end AI/ML projects, from problem definition and technical strategy through experimentation, deployment and continuous improvement. Shape frameworks for data acquisition, transformation, quality and workflow automation, and design cohesive financial analytics workflows.
- Partner with domain experts and senior stakeholders to identify opportunities, turn business needs into specifications and success criteria, and communicate findings and recommendations across product, engineering and business teams. Guide and mentor data scientists and ML engineers.
- Design, build and optimize production-grade deep-learning, NLP, LLM, generative AI, multimodal and RAG solutions. Apply model evaluation, tuning and scaling; assess third-party tools for build-versus-buy decisions; and explore AI agents, human-AI collaboration and synthetic data.
- Work with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data, including financial documents, PDFs and scans. Apply extraction, web scraping, crawling, entity recognition and preprocessing; collaborate on reliable data pipelines.
- Lead secure, scalable cloud deployments with engineering teams, using MLOps, LLMOps and CI/CD practices. Uphold coding quality, reproducibility, monitoring, observability, Responsible AI governance, explainability, documentation and audit readiness.
Requirements
8–12 years of data science/AI experience, including ownership of complex initiatives. Strong hands-on expertise in Python, ML/deep-learning frameworks, NLP, LLMs and RAG; experience with MLOps/LLMOps, production deployment, Git-based CI/CD, AI agents, human-in-the-loop systems and synthetic data; and a foundation in statistics, data engineering and large-scale processing. Proficiency in AWS or Azure, plus Python, R and SQL, is specified. The education requirement is a master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science, or an Engineering degree specializing in Data Science/AI. Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking and communication skills are required.
Preferred
Investment banking or financial-services experience; contributions to AI governance, risk or regulatory compliance; AI/ML/NLP publications, patents or presentations; experience in multi-team or global environments; and recognition as an AI/ML technical expert.
