About this role
LSEG seeks an individual-contributor Lead Data Scientist to turn AI prototypes into scalable, production-grade solutions for financial markets and professionals. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with project planning and collaboration across data science, business and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy and optimize AI models and data-driven solutions, including applications of generative AI, to meet business objectives. Improve model accuracy, efficiency and fitness for purpose.
- Evaluate third-party AI solutions for functionality, performance, scalability and business suitability. Establish model-evaluation and coding standards, manage project timelines, and help define requirements and development roadmaps with business and engineering partners.
- Build document intelligence solutions that extract, structure, validate and analyze information from regulatory filings, financial statements, earnings transcripts, research reports and other complex financial documents.
- Design scalable retrieval and knowledge-discovery frameworks using OCR, NLP, semantic search, RAG and LLMs for accurate information extraction and analysis.
Required qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience applying data science methods to real-world problems, with a record of deploying AI models and solutions to production.
- Strong data analysis and probability foundations; object-oriented Python programming and experience with libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and Scikit-learn. Expertise in Azure and/or AWS and scalable deployment practices.
- Experience maintaining coding standards and communicating complex concepts to technical and nontechnical partners. Proven production-grade document intelligence experience using OCR, intelligent document processing, NLP, information extraction and generative AI. Hands-on expertise with tools and platforms including OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, Llama, Azure AI Document Intelligence, AWS Textract, Google Document AI, LangChain, LlamaIndex and vector databases.
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred
Working knowledge of DevOps practices, including version control, CI/CD, automated testing and monitoring.
The role is based at IND-Bangalore-A, RMZ Infinity. It is hybrid and digital first, with office attendance required at least one day per week.
