What matters most

  • Enterprise Agentic System Architecture

The role requires designing end-to-end GenAI solutions that move beyond simple chatbots into multi-agent orchestration, autonomous task execution, and complex RAG pipelines. You must be prepared to define standards for agent communication, routing, and lifecycle management within enterprise environments.

  • Operationalizing GenAI (LLMOps)

A core priority is establishing observability, testing, and production standards. This involves implementing telemetry, automated regression testing, and monitoring tools like LangSmith or Langfuse to ensure reliability, latency management, and cost efficiency in production.

  • Technical Leadership and Mentorship

As a Manager, you are responsible for guiding engineering teams through architecture reviews and code-level guidance. You must balance hands-on technical contributions with the ability to manage workstreams, mentor junior staff, and translate complex business objectives into actionable technical requirements.

Likely challenges to think through

  • Balancing Innovation with Enterprise Security

You will face the trade-off between deploying cutting-edge agentic frameworks and adhering to strict enterprise security and governance policies. Prepare by demonstrating how you implement defense-in-depth safeguards against risks like prompt injection and data exfiltration without stifling system performance.

  • Scaling Prototypes to Production

Transitioning from a successful prototype to a production-grade system involves managing throughput, multi-region deployments, and cloud-native orchestration. Be ready to discuss how you handle the technical debt and infrastructure complexities inherent in scaling agentic AI on platforms like Azure AI Foundry or Amazon Bedrock.

Sharpen your knowledge

Topics to prepare

  • Agentic AI Architecture

Focus on multi-agent orchestration, autonomous task execution, and communication protocols. Exercise: Draft a high-level architecture diagram for a multi-agent system that handles complex customer support queries, defining how agents route tasks and share tools. This is critical for the role's requirement to define agentic design standards.

  • LLM Security and Defense-in-Depth

Understand risks like prompt injection, jailbreaking, and data exfiltration. Exercise: Create a threat model for a RAG-based application and map specific defense-in-depth safeguards to each identified risk. This aligns with the requirement to secure enterprise GenAI solutions.

  • Advanced RAG and Evaluation

Master Graph RAG, hybrid search, and evaluation metrics. Exercise: Compare the trade-offs between Vector-based RAG and Graph RAG for a knowledge-heavy enterprise use case. This is essential for the role's focus on scaling GenAI projects from prototype to production.

Skills to revise

  • Agentic Frameworks (LangGraph/CrewAI)

Proficiency in building stateful, multi-agent workflows. Exercise: Build a simple state machine using LangGraph that manages a multi-step task with human-in-the-loop approval. This directly addresses the requirement for hands-on experience with orchestration frameworks.
