Responsibilities
- Define analytical strategy across multiple Trust & Risk domains, turn broad objectives into measurable priorities, and identify high-impact opportunities across customer experience, marketplace risk and transaction loss.
- Frame ambiguous problems, synthesize insights across workstreams and risk vectors, and guide senior leaders on long-term decisions, investment priorities and trade-offs.
- Establish standardized KPIs and quantitative decision frameworks covering customer trust, transaction risk, enterprise loss, decision quality, false positives, residual exposure and return on investment.
- Set objectives and success measures, track progress and gaps, and connect recommendations to measurable improvements in policy effectiveness, risk outcomes, customer experience and financial results.
- Provide analytical direction across concurrent initiatives, manage dependencies, partner with cross-functional leaders on roadmaps, and mentor data scientists and other partners to improve analytical rigor.
Required qualifications
- BA/BS with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree or PhD with 6+ years, in quantitative research, analytics, data science or related disciplines.
- Strong analytical and quantitative methods, programming in Python or R, and SQL querying. Ability to turn complex data and ambiguous problems into actionable strategy, lead multiple analytical workstreams, assess business trade-offs and influence executives without direct authority.
- Flexibility to work remotely across time zones, with regular availability for meetings between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM PDT.
Helpful background includes marketplace trust, fraud, transaction or financial risk; enterprise-scale measurement and decision frameworks; analytical portfolio leadership; executive partnerships; and e-commerce, payments or shipping. Experience with NLP, machine learning, LLMs or generative AI is a plus. The posting specifies full-time employment at 40 hours per week but does not state a work-mode arrangement or salary.
