01

Understand the role

What matters most

  • Scalable Robotics Architecture Design

The role requires designing and implementing robust, scalable robotics systems using ROS2, C++, and Python. You must demonstrate the ability to move beyond simple prototypes to industrial-grade solutions that integrate autonomy, sensor fusion, and real-time processing within simulation environments like NVIDIA Isaac Sim or Gazebo.

  • Technical Leadership and Delivery

You will lead interdisciplinary teams of 3-10 people through the full lifecycle of robotics projects, from Proof of Concept (PoC) to production rollout. Success depends on your ability to mentor junior engineers, manage technical delivery, and ensure high-quality software engineering practices are maintained throughout the development process.

  • Strategic Client Engagement and Ecosystem Development

Beyond engineering, you must act as a bridge between emerging robotics technology and industrial client needs. This involves defining technology roadmaps, conducting venture screening, and collaborating with partners to transition innovative robotics concepts into productive, value-driven implementations for global clients.

Likely challenges to think through

  • Bridging the Gap Between PoC and Production

A common challenge in industrial robotics is the difficulty of scaling a successful pilot into a reliable, production-ready system. Prepare by discussing specific strategies for managing technical debt, ensuring system stability in unpredictable real-world environments, and maintaining rigorous CI/CD pipelines for robotics software.

  • Managing Diverse Stakeholder Expectations

As a lead working with global industrial clients, you will need to translate complex technical robotics concepts into business value. Prepare by practicing how you communicate technical risks, project timelines, and architectural trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders while maintaining the integrity of the robotics solution.
