The Buyer Risk Prevention (BRP) team at Amazon is seeking an Applied Scientist II to develop and deploy advanced machine learning systems that protect customers and ensure a secure eCommerce experience. You will own the end-to-end development of ML models, from problem formulation to production deployment, leveraging large-scale data to identify fraud patterns and risk trends. Key responsibilities include: Responsibilities: - Develop and deploy innovative ML models for large-scale risk management. - Utilize Generative AI and LLM technologies to automate risk evaluation and improve operational efficiency. - Collaborate with software engineering teams to build scalable, real-time model solutions. - Partner with business stakeholders to translate risk insights into measurable impact. - Establish automated processes for model experimentation, validation, and monitoring. - Research and implement novel statistical and machine learning methodologies. Qualifications: - Required: 3+ years of experience building models for business applications. - Required: PhD or Master's degree. - Required: Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python. - Required: Experience in algorithms, data structures, data mining, or high-performance computing. - Required: Proven track record in patents or publications at top-tier conferences or journals. - Preferred: Experience with Unix/Linux environments and professional software development lifecycles.
