About this role
Ampere seeks a senior individual contributor in Bangalore to build and operate the engineering foundation for enterprise AI. The hands-on role spans shared AI platform services, knowledge retrieval, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations and agent workflows. The engineer will make design decisions, write production code, establish standards and remain accountable for systems after release, working with engineering, data, IT, security and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Build shared services, APIs, automations and integrations that connect approved AI models with enterprise data and tools. Improve deployments, reliability, performance, monitoring, logging, incident response and operating documentation.
- Develop embedding, indexing and retrieval methods. Improve search through hybrid retrieval, metadata filtering, access-aware retrieval, reranking, query processing and source citations. Evaluate retrieval accuracy, grounding, latency, cost and failure handling.
- Implement MCP clients, servers and enterprise tool integrations. Define schemas, authentication, authorization, approval flows and audit records; maintain a managed tool catalog with access controls, versioning, testing and monitoring.
- Build agent workflows with tool use, execution state, approvals and failure recovery. Implement scheduling, retries, checkpoints, cancellation, escalation and human review; measure task completion, quality, reliability, latency and cost.
- Apply enterprise identity and security controls, including OAuth2/OIDC, SSO, managed identities, RBAC, secrets management and least-privilege access. Address prompt injection, data leakage, unsafe tool access and poor source provenance.
Requirements
M.Tech in Computer Engineering or a related field with at least 3 years of experience, or B.Tech in a related field with at least 5 years of experience. Also requires at least 3 years building production software, platform services, developer tools, data systems or applied AI products. Candidates need strong software-engineering fundamentals; Python, TypeScript and React experience; experience with enterprise APIs and integrations, LLM applications or related retrieval and agent systems, MCP or comparable protocols, reliable workflows, Linux, Git, Docker, CI/CD, cloud deployment and production operations; and sound security judgment.
Preferred
Rust, Tauri or native desktop development; Azure AI services and infrastructure; search or vector platforms; workflow orchestration; Terraform or Bicep; Redis, telemetry and cost management; pytest, Vitest, Playwright or AI evaluation frameworks; and semiconductor, advanced-computing, developer-platform or enterprise-engineering experience.
